Unboxing Cthulhu The Cat

The shelter put little Cthulhu in a box. A temporary cardboard cat carrier with the shelters logo. Holding the box, by the handle I felt the full weight of the creature for the first time. I carried Cthulhu to my car and secured her to the back seat with the belt. I drove more careful than normal. More careful than when I have humans as passengers.

I listened carefully for noises of distress. Growls or yelps. I broke the awkward silence and chirped my best meeeeooowww. From the depths of the box a meeeooowww was chanted back. A little bit more mysterious and significantly more cat-like noise. The chants last until we arrived.

Opening the box I found a predator. Hunter of ghosts, and mice. Destroyer of worlds.
